    You are one of my new favorite food vloggers on RUclips, always showing the food and thoroughly explaining each dish. Your style is my favorite because you are genuine and devote your attention to the dish. Enjoy the food, and We need more episodes

    Firstly, Happy New Year Dan! 🎉 You certainly didn’t disappoint us with your trip to Singapore , it’s such an immaculate, & beautiful place to go, Mmmm, the food looks just as delicious as it was when I visited there, although I did struggle with the chop sticks! 😂
    Thank you so much for sharing this with us. With love & big hugs From 🥶Scotland 🤗x

      Thanks Carrol! I agree, Singapore is such a fascinating destination for any food lover. You can spend weeks trying different places and dishes and steel feel like you barely scratched the surface!

    Brilliant. You’re right that chicken rice from almost any vendor will be of a pretty good standard, but some of the stand-out ones are really, really good - the taste is next level. (My personal favorite is Boon Tong Kee chicken rice, but I’m sure there are others.)
    Top tip: chase that chilli crab sauce with fried buns (mantou)!

    You should try another local bak kut teh in Singapore, Singapore-style Hokkien herbal flavored bak kut teh :
    "Morning Bak Kut Teh"
    Hong Lim Market & Food Centre,
    Blk 531A Upper Cross Street #01-72
    Singapore 051531

      There is another stall there that also sells Hokkien-style Bak Kut Teh. It is in the same food centre. The stall name is "Hokkien Street Bak Kut Teh" and the stall number is #01-66.
      When eating Hokkien-style Bak Kut Teh, you should order yam rice to accompany it. Both of these Bak Kut Teh stalls sell braised pork trotter, which are both delicious, you can try them also.

      @DanFandelli you should atleast say it outright in you video title. And by the way...Chinese food is not SG national dishes!

    • @DanFandelli
      @DanFandelli  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@hairizrasih4018 I appreciate it is difficult to make a comprehensive list in a 12 minutes video in which I had to pick 5 foods, because Singapore food is so incredibly diverse. However, even the Michelin guide lists Bak kut teh, Hainanese chicken rice and Chilli crab as SG national dishes! Yes, if you go really back in the history, they may all have in common some hokkien/teochew/other Chinese roots, but then you could say that for every Peranakan dish. And still nobody argues that Peranakan cuisine is distinctively Singaporean, not really Chinese. Kaya toasts is also arguably one of SG most famous breakfast. So I don't 100% agree with you here!

      @@DanFandelli I actually do appreciate of you trying to showcase food of Singapore! But calling Chinese food as a National dish of Singapore is uncalled for! If you want to film on Singapore chinese food do say it as it is! But make sure you also showcase other ethnic food! Majority of visitors to Singapore only try Chinese food and on occasion Indian food!

  • @bearfamily269
    @bearfamily269 9 месяцев назад

    Top 5 national dishes are all Chinese? Are you sure? I don't eat any of them except chicken rice. You could've added at least 1 Malay and 1 Indian dishes. ✌️

      That is what I am curious about! Singapore is a food haven yet all this ang moh only showcase Chinese food! What the hell! If he really into taste and spice...he should try Malay mee soto, Indian mee kuah and many others!!

      That's a fair point! Regarding Indian cuisine, I will dedicate a whole separate video so that's why I haven't included anything here!
